Snowball Fight

Maybe when

I'm done writing all this stuff,

these poems and short stories, these

memoirs about my life, when I've written

all the pieces down, I will scoop them all up

like so much snow, pack them into some literary

snowball to lob at the world, smack in the back

of the head.  And if others who were there want

to argue about details and “facts,” dates and

events, I'll say, “Write your own version.

Then you can have your say, because this

is what is real for me.  If your reality

is different than mine, then write

it differently, because until

you do, I win.”
