Grace
"Grace brings
contentment" reads the tag
on my Yogi tea bag this
evening.
I do not know what it means exactly,
I do not know what it means exactly,
as I am not sure what to make
of grace.
I know that I have spent a great deal of my day
feeling anger and resentment
which have not led to contentment at all,
which have not led to contentment at all,
but I do not know what grace
looks like
nor how to attain it, if it is attainable by seeking
nor how to attain it, if it is attainable by seeking
or asking, or if it is
already here.
Grace is defined with words like:
“sanctification, compassion,
seemliness,
elegance, unearned favor,”
elegance, unearned favor,”
further clouding the concept
with their mysteries.
One on-line definition begins:
"Grace is a WYSIWYG* 2D
plotting tool," and amusingly ends
"some minor
functionality may be missing, though."
its complexity, its foibles, as from my pocket I draw the slip of paper
from the fortune cookie I had earlier today which reads:
"Keep your expectations reasonable."
